Jeff was found dead today in St. Paul. The Star Tribune has more details.

I'm a MN native, living in L.A. My primary band out there just celebrated our CD release and had the honor of having Jeff open for us for the party. The audience - most of whom had never heard of him before - was silent and transfixed throughout his set - a rarity at any venue, especially in L.A.
I spoke with Jeff at length before his set. It was a beautiful privilege to have known him and shared one of his last shows with him. My condolences to all who knew Jeff or his music.
